Sunrise Rotary Foundation Helps Hope House with Transition and Succession Plan

We want to help more private and corporate foundations make an even greater impact with their investments. Our partnership with the Sunrise Rotary Foundation is a good example of this work. For decades, they have been investing their time, talent and treasure in the Hope House in Marsing, ID. The members of this Rotary Club care deeply about the youth who end up needing a home like the Hope House. Many Rotarians have volunteered to help with the property, buildings, maintenance, coaching sports teams, fundraising, and much more, and now they want to ensure that the transition from the Founder (who has been at the helm for 50+ years) to a new leader works. This particular investment is ‘values-driven’ which is a key step of making a long-term impact.

Foundations should look beyond their specific organization and realize that we all stand to gain when infrastructure organizations like Idaho Partners for Good, can strengthen the whole sector. Infrastructure matters! It’s easy to take operations for granted because they’re not necessarily something passion-driven people want to spend their time doing. With Idaho Partners for Good at their side, we help them fix the predictable conditions in their operations. While it’s not sexy, it builds a firm foundation upon which they can provide higher quality programming and services.

The partnership with Idaho Partners for Good led the Sunrise Rotary Club to hire Thrive Together Consulting, a business and leadership development consulting agency that donates a portion of its fees to Idaho Partners for Good.

We asked Maureen O’Toole, a Sunrise Rotary Club member and a member of their Foundation Board a few questions recently about her experience with Thrive Together Consulting.

Why does the Sunrise Rotary Club make annual investments of time, talent and treasure to the Hope House? Sunrise Rotary is committed to working with organizations that provide opportunities and support for children, especially those who face adversity. Hope House is aptly named, providing safety, education, love, faith, and support for children who have faced tremendous adversity and need of the love and care in a family environment.

Why did you select the Thrive Together Consulting team to help you with the transition and succession planning process? Thrive Together Consulting combines team members with depth and breadth of knowledge and experience in business who also understand the nuances of the nonprofit business world. Team members approach their efforts with care, compassion, transparency, integrity, and efficiency. I would recommend Thrive Together Consulting to any nonprofit as a trusted business partner and advisor.
